Ca D'Oro; Venice

Ca D'Oro; Venice

Since studying architecture I have always longed to visit Venice – The gently crumbling fusion of western Gothic and eastern Byzantine architecture with the lagoon lapping at it's doorways makes Venice one of the architectural wonders of the world. The Ca D'Oro or 'Golden Palace' sitting on the Grand Canal is an outstanding building rich in coloured marble and carved stone. Built in 1436, thecolonnadesand balconies create contrasts of light and shade which are picked out in the reflection on the canal.

I offer a choice of frames for Ca D'Oro as you can see below. Both frames are simple and don't detract from the image.

The Mahogany frame is the more popular choice across all my pictures. Its very dark hue with a soft matt sheen makes a great contrast to bring out the tones in this picture.

The gold frame has a burnished lustre to its front and has a black edging which suits this particular picture. I have used a double mount and the overall combination makes a for a very high quality presentation
