Alastair's background as an architect has given him a passion for city scapes and buildings. But in fact, any subject with strong lines including cars, vans and tractors and even birdlife bring inspiration to him. He likes to feature scenes from Norwich and Norfolk as well as his original home of Edinburgh. Other famous cities around the world including New York, Lisbon, London, Venice and Rome also feature. He has recently switched from colour pencil drawing to acrylic painting which gives him more freedom with a more expressive approach. The results are stunning compositions rich in colour and texture which instantly capture the subject and its setting.
Alastair's work has found recognition through publication in the media including Architectural Review, Country Living Magazine and The Sunday Express. He has exhibited extensively in the UK as well as abroad and his work has been retailed at Fired Earth, Kew Gardens and the V&A museum in London.
The results are stunning compositions rich in colour and texture which instantly capture the subject and its setting.
